Matt Farr is a self proclaimed anti-pop activist, happily throwing aside electronic gadgets, skinny pants, and bottles of hair gel for vintage mechanical instruments, frayed bell bottoms, and roaring tubes. The sound has been compared to the likes of classic Billy Joel and other great piano rock legends with it's warm, organic sound. "I love the sound of the 60's and 70's, I love the raw sound that showcases musicianship rather than production." emphasizes Farr. The songs are about his life journey and the highs and lows along the way. The album was recorded in St. Augustine, FL by legendary producer Jim DeVito and features world class musicians; Craig Stevens, Craig Barnette, Pete Winders, and Eric Brigmond. Enveloped in a throw-back vintage sound, it is a funky yet very easy to listen to mixture of dynamic instrumentation and catchy melody lines. "The solo tunes are going to be the most open, true representation of my personality and talents as an artist. It will express the down times, as well as the great times, just like what life deals everyone." says Farr.

Growing up on the shores of South Florida, influenced by cases full of tapes and shelves full of old LP's ranging from jazz greats, to 60's rock icons, to reggae masters, and modern day hipsters, Farr has tirelessly pursued making music since a very young age - chasing the goal, living the adventure, and loving every bit of it - Farr has acknowledged songwriting as his natural gift. "Playing and writing music is true happiness to me, I just want to do it at a very high level, and hopefully share that vibe with all the music fans I come across each and every day", Farr explains. With both parents’ musicians themselves, Farr was born into a musical environment that was contagious and easy for him. "I just think I soaked it all up and fell in love with an art that has surrounded me my whole life", says Farr. Playing piano from a very young age Farr began playing keyboards in rock bands as a teen. When one band realized they had all the pieces in place except for one small detail . . . a singer, Farr stepped in and gave it a shot. "I literally just said , well I guess I'll try, and that was that! From that point on I did a lot of playing and singing at the piano." Farr recalls. His new found role eventually led to a scholarship at University of Miami for jazz vocal and fronting numerous projects around the South Florida area.

The ten uplifting tracks on the new solo release speak about living each day doing what you love, and learning from all those times that may have past us bye like the album's four on the floor, upbeat track "Living Like Ourselves" or the acoustic ballad "Crossroad". Farr even touches on the old philosophy that you will never find love if you are looking, it always happens when you least expect it, the story behind the song "Crying Sun". "Mostly I just hope I can bring across a musical journey that reaches out to the listener, and once it ends, they want to start again at track one" Farr explains.
